Summer 2009

The dog taught Ryan how to drink from the pool, who then taught Conner how to drink from the pool...yuck!

All the backyard playing made for one tired boy. I walked out to check on him one day, and this is what I found..."crashed" out in his truck!

It seems most of our summer was spent watching Chase play baseball, which was not a bad thing considering we got to witness his first homerun, right over the fence!

The Mechams!

I'm just getting the hang of this blogging thing...actually just figured out how to add a photo, so hopefully I'll be back posting more of the happenings in our family's life (which can be quite eventful with all these boys). But, I wanted to start off with a family photo...and we have a wonderful niece who needed a project family for a photography class...and we made the list! So...this is an introduction to my family...all boys and me. I am learning to love this about my life (the no girls and hence less drama). Each of these boys adds a special quality to our family. Chase has always been a blessing in my life. I knew from the moment he was conceived that he would be a special part of several peoples lives, and had this confirmed when he was just a baby. I adore his loving personality. He is so helpful and a lot of fun to have around. He has entered the teenage years...but so far, not bad! He makes me laugh with his sense of humor and I love the man he is becoming right before my eyes. Ean is known for his huge, engaging smile. I tell him he can make anyone feel good just by smiling...and it works! Sometimes this little guy will just tell me "give me a hug" and it makes my day! Conner is full of life and energy...he struggled at birth, but the stubborn strength he had to get him through the first few months of life is what makes him, well him. I just hope I am able to channel this energy in a positive direction! Ryan is my deceiver...well he only deceived me once, and that was so that he could come to our family...little guy had me convinced he was going to be a girl. However, I will forever be greatful for his little lie. He is a precious ending to what makes up our family! Matt is the leader of the pack...in many ways. He is such a strong and great example of a hard working and dedicated father and husband. I am greatful each day to have him by my side. All in all, I just love these men who I have been blessed to call mine!
It appears China will not let my parents into see my blog...so hopefully some of you out there will enjoy the moments of our lives, and they can get a recap when they get home! But it is here that I will fill family and friends in on the goings on in our lives.

Blogging World, Here We Come

I've broken down, well actually just finally decided to commit the time to starting my own blog. I've often thought it would be a good way to document the happenings of our family, and with my parents living in China and unable to see their grandchildren, I thought now was as good as time as any to get one going....so here the adventure begins. Now we are hoping that China allows my parents to view the blog...however, I still hope others out there will enjoy the moments of my life, being the only girl living amongst five guys, well six if you count the dog! Some days I handle it better than others, but it is a journey I am loving. Welcome to a view into my life, and that of my family...
